As long as the battery is being charged enough so she always starts, I wouldnt worry all that much just yet. It could be worn down brushes in the genny or sticking corroded brush hold down springys or burned carboned contacts in the Voltage Regulator (if it has one instead of simple cutout relay) or a bad grounded or worn switch contact in the LHBD switch if thats what it has (used with 2 wire simple cutout relay systems). Other minor problems may be a bad ground or a loose or corroded connection or even a loose fan belt.

If it gets to where it isnt charging at all run Par 5 of my Troubleshooting Procedure which will tell you if its a generator versus a Voltage Regulator or other problem.

For now Ima goin with the genny brushes are getting short or theres a bad ground or other connection (like a bad ground in the LHBD swith or it has resistive loose contacts) and if it happens to have a Voltage Regulator (instead of a simple cutout relay and LHBD ligh switch)it has burned carboned contacts or a bad ground.
