The problem I had with the aftermarket bands was that they were 3/8" too long. The adjuster would have to be shorter than the available amount of adjustment to make them work.
The other problem was that the top eye was just a loop of the backing material, not a seperate heavy rivited on clevis. The spot welds on the eye would break and then there would be no brake.
If you fixed that problem, eventually, if you realy use the brakes to turn and such, the top pin tears through the eye. That leads to no brakes again.
Maybe they have fixed those problems. If so, that's good news.
