The following is an obituary for Frank Cook. He hasn't come down for breakfast for more than 10 years. The tractor must have been some kind of IH engineered prototype. I was hoping it might have been a farmer engineered project.

A. Frank Cook
12/30/99

Funeral services for Arthur Frank Cook, 86, Roseville, were held Thursday, December 30, at the Rollo Church at 1 p.m. Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiated and interment was in Precinct Cemetery near Earlville.

Mr. Cook, formerly of Rollo, passed away at 10:30 p.m. in McAllen Heart Hospital, McAllen, TX. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for children or to the Roseville Fire Department.

A son of John and Myrtle Lee Cook, he was born April 1, 1913, in Earlville. He married Marjorie Atherton on August 28, 1933, in Waukegan, who survives.

He also leaves: a son son, Frank, of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Jeralyn Gray of Ottawa and Becci and Becci Hubbard of Sandwich; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

His parents, a brother, a sister, one son Jack, and a grandson preceded him in death.

Mr. Cook managed, farmed and tested new equipment on the International Experimental Farm, and designed and built the 4-wheel drive farm tractor. He also served as road commissioner for 12 years and operated Cook Trucking.

He was a member of the Roseville Masonic Lodge, #519; Valley of Moline Consistory; Mohammed Temple, Shrine, in Peoria; West Central Illinois Shrine Club; and the Cattleman’s Livestock Association.
