The answer to your question is maybe.. It all depends on the countershaft that is in the tractor.. If the tractor has the earlier "Dog" style countershaft, then you cannot pinstall the later splined PTO unit into the tractor without a special adapter that IH made years ago.. The best thing to do, is reply with the serial number of your tractor, and we can check to see which style of countershaft it should have, but usually you will need to take the PTO out just to make sure.. Most of the earlier countershafts have been changed to the later style splined shaft..
