Just bought a 656 hydro a few weeks ago from my uncle down in southern Minnesota. He didn't need it anymore and new I was interested in it for deer food plots. I did some minor repair like belts, Fuel solenoid shut off, leaks, etc. I noticed a noise coming from the engine that I have not notice before. My uncle had the oil and filter changed before I bought it. The engine was overhauled 10-15 years ago. They installed a new hour meter with the overhaul that currently reads 400 hrs. I guess that means it has not been used a lot. Dad thinks it is a lifter near the front of the engine ,but not really sure. What steps should I take first on this? Thank you for replying. Your help is much appreciated.
