Is there any easy way to tell if you need to get the head trued when you get it off there? I have a 45' AV that I am restoring and I want to replace the head, valve, and oil pan gaskets among others.
But with the head gasket I was wondering if you can just remove the head, clean everything up, put on the new gasket and torque down or if you have to get the head trued up at a machine shop just because you removed it.
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to remove the head by yourself of if it would be handy to have someone else there to lift it off with you. Sorry for all the questions but this is my first time restoring a tractor and I'm going at it on my own with help and advice from people I know and this forum.
