With a live hyd pump on already on your tractor I would use it. Only extra thing you will need would be a priority flow control valve in the pressure line so that the power steering would have priority of hyds. Otherwise you would loose your ps when using the hyds which coulkd be rather awkward if you were turning or such. If you don't use your hyds then you could get by without the pfc valve. I have a Satge II SM settuo that way as only thing the tractor is used for is to run an auger occasionally. Also have a SMTA that has the ps using the pfc valve so we can use rear hyd remotes if needed.
You can eliminate the pfc valve by using a seperate pump but you're going to have to figure our how to drive the pump off the fan pulley (there's special pulleys that are available, plus you going to have to add a hy reservoir tank for the seperate pump. IMO, there would actually be more plumbing & work involved with ading the 2nd pump than using your tractor's existing live pump.
