Normally a 460 has a calibrated main jet that you just make sure adjusting screw is not restricting it . The original intent of the adjusting screw on high speed jet was to lean them a little under light load conditions. Just wind her out when warm, screw it in until it starts to lean out and back it out a half turn for a starting point. Don't want to run it too lean if you use it for any amount of pulling though. Some of these tractors have the main jet drilled out in an attempt to reduce the spitting and sputtering when you open the throttle. Finding a new correct jet can be real challenge.
