I actually have three of the "cutdowns". I described the first one that I built in the first e-mail. I forgot to add that when I tried to buy an I12, it started off at $3300. I desided to build my own. Since then I have built a "rowcrop" version with 24 inch tires and the same cut down frame. Again I used a 16 hp Kohler engine. My last reactor was a "lowboy" I used the same f12 frame but cut it down to the point where I had only 4 inches of ground clearence. I used the tires off my son's SUV. I used a padded seat from an old cub cadet and again a 16hp Kohler engine. Since the center of gravity is so low, it pulls like you wouldn't believe All three of my tractors have the engine mounted on a flat plate with bearings on one end. The other end is raised and lowered via a cam mechenism fastened to hand operated clutch lever. I use at least 2 belts so that the power is transmitted to the bevel transfer gear.
