I have a "51 Trojan front end loader which is manufactured with a Farmall M engine in it. I"m losing oil from the crankcase out from the bottom of the bell housing. My assumption is that my rear main seal is bad. Unlike a Farmall that splits apart fairly easily, the Trojan has a solid frame so the easiest way to split would be to lift the engine out. At this point I have removed the oil pan, then removed another small plate to access the rear main cap and removed it as well, still unable to access the seal. The new seal comes in halves so I am hoping there is a way to replace it without pulling the crank out. It appears there might be another piece of the rear of the motor that may drop as well to allow seal access? Or the seems I"m seeing could just be part of the casting? Any knowledge anyone may have of this would be greatly appreciated!! mail me at dononsnow@hotmail.com thanks -Don
