Well, I have been looking for an 06 series tractor for about 2 years now. I am ona tight budget and with that well you know what you get.

I like the heavy tranny and rearend in this series tractor with the small motor and the smaller sheet metal versus the 66 series.

I finally found one through the grapevine that has been sitting for 4 years. tires are all flat, batteries are bad and TA is out on the low side, water pump bearing has a little slack in it, needs a new valve cover gasket.

Other than that the owners Mechanic has gone and started it every month since it has been sat up, dedication there, It has 8700 hours but this same mechanic is who originally sold this tractor when he had his dealership. Knowing the history helps, just had all the shifting linkage rebuilt the winter before it was put to pasture. Has a 310 in it, the hydrolics are in good shape and the tin is excellent. The widow lady just wanted to get rid of it so I got it for 2,000 cash. I think I made a great deal and after looking as long as I did I wasnt going to let it get away, best part it is only 30 min. from home.

I will be posting pics once I start refurbishing it. right now I will get new wheels on it and a hay fork and put it to work since it has been so wet where I am.

This is my first tractor and whats interesting my dad bought his first tractor, a used 706 when he was my age back in the "70"s
