Eric, Here is what I am doing at the present time. Keep in mind that I asked dozens or questions on conversion to 12 volt system. And someday I may convert over, but I wanted to keep the tractor as close to orginal as possible. So I installed an 8 volt battery. These batteries are used for golf carts. It is fair to say that there are probably good and bad points about this, but I adjusted the generator, and it seems to work fine. Not only that it starts much, much better than the old 6 volt one I had. I would have had to make changes in the lights, etc.. etc.... But for now I will try what I have, if not I will go back to a 6 volt and buy a Delco battery next time, because many people told me they were the "BEST" whether it is true or not is another story. But I am willing to give it a try. Good Luck! Big "M"
