cheap 560 to buy or not to buy

hello I am looking at a 560 my friend has had for a few years now he is needing to sell it. It has around 1800 hours and has had the head redone in past 3 years or so It has brand new 1200 tires on it and he wants 1500 bucks for it the problem is its kinda rough looking and missing some of the covers the big thing that scares me is one of the springs in the ta are broken and it will make a really bad noise if you try to use it. The thing is will I be ok if I never use it and just run it in normal all the time? So my question is it worth the money or should I just stay away?
