So, which hydraulic system do you have on your 986, open or closed. Later has flow control valves, open does not unless it has the conversion from closed pfc to a gear type pump. Lot of options here. If original open center type , make sure hitch position control lever is not fully forward into action control range as this dumps fluid. Raise hitch a ways and have load control in heavy positon. Both systems are about 12 gpm and should operate a loader at a reasonable speed unless you have a very large cyl. You could put in a 17 gpm pump but I would sure have own pump flow rate tested before I did that. Also, lever should stay latched when lifting loader, if it does not you have a restriction such as coupler or maybe an orfice in line. Far as adding another valve system, well, original open center hyd system uses a supercharge line from rear pump to front pump so you have to plumb properly to assure that flow. If closed center system, you will need signal lines back to pump from extra valve. Some things to think about.
