I ordered a used glow plug meter for my 656 and when it arrived the tag stated it was from a 444. I asked the dealer if in fact 4 cylinder meters were interchangeable with the meter from 6 cylinder models. He stated they were the same.
I can"t get my head wrapped around the fact that a 6 cyl. should have 50% more amp draw than the 4 cyl. therefore the 6 cyl meter should be heavier. I tested the 444 meter on the 656 and it instantly goes to full pegged when the glow plugs are on. Should it? How would it register that 1-2 plugs weren"t working if it was designed for 4 cyl?
The Part # from the 444 meter is 378352R91. I don"t have the 656 meter therefore no part number to cross check. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
