First problem, he doesn't have a manual, and I only know Super-A's.
It won't start, not even a stumble. We checked at the plugs, and it has spark. Moving around to the carb, it drips from #1 in the picture below. He had futzed with it to see if he had gas flow, but he has a heavy hand, and after tightening, now it leaks. I see this as just a brass-seated tap, no? But I don't yet know what it empties... is it just the float bowl?
Next issue, when I put my finger over the tap hole to stop the leak, then within 15-20 seconds, gas starts to leak exactly at #2. Raw gas shouldn't be up that high, right? (but the only carb I've ever looked in is a Super-A). If it is leaking there, is that enough raw gas in the system to prevent ignition?
Lastly, I'll likely be pulling the carb after work tomorrow.
Any trick to separating the carb from the governor, that is, will the carb just pull out to the right? (my Super-A has a linkage- easy to separate).
And, I'm guessing we'll need gaskets for #1 and #2- do we need one for #3, or anywhere else that I'm not seeing?
Thanks guys. He's no mechanic, and he'll be paying someone to come and look, if we can't fix this. I think I can do 'er, but just need some tips so I don't booger it up.
