Thanks for all the replies on this subject. I was about ready to sell or junk the tractor and I told it so.
Tuesday I had mowed for 20 minutes and it started missing and quit. Got my tools and this time, for the first time, there was no fuel at the filters. Took the valve apart and had fuel, MUST BE A PLUGGED LINE. This morning I drained and strained the fuel for the third time. NO DIRT IN FUEL Blew out the fuel line. NOTHING IN FUEL LINE Took the sending unit out of the top of the tank and got a flashlight. There it was....looks like the pump part of a siphon kit....laying in the bottom of the tank. Nearly went cross eyed fishing it out of that little hole.....but I got it. Just the right size to get sucked into the stand pipe and stop or make the tractor miss. I am guessing it had been in there a long time and finally softened up enough to get sucked into the stand pipe.
