Steel fan shroud on F-450

This trick worked real slick here, for hassle free putting back the fan shroud after cooling system renovation. Peel off and discard the band thing, that extends about an inch back from the pressed steel shround. From about an inch in from each lower corner, cut near straight up, so's to intersect the rear opening someplace around the 4 and 8 o'clock position. Discard the lower piece. Cut a sheet metal "scab" patch to fit inside the shroud at the 12 o'clock position. Drill the holes and install the patch. Remove the patch, then saber saw cut straight up at the 12 o'clock position. This trick makes a two piece shround, that is easy to install. Once the pieces are in place re-install the patch. Then, fasten the shroud into place with the two OEM long bolts on each side.
