Craig Morgan performs solo for worldwide gathering of IH enthusiasts

RACINE, Wis. - Country artist Craig Morgan will entertain “International Harvester” enthusiasts from across the United States, Canada and Europe as they descend upon Madison for the Red Power Roundup at the Alliant Energy Center, July 23-25. The acoustic performance, courtesy of Case IH Agriculture, is just one highlight in a packed schedule for this three-day event, which is open to everyone who has an appreciation for farm machinery.

The 20th annual Red Power Roundup will be hosted by the Wis. Chapter No. 4 of the International Harvester (IH) Club – a worldwide collector’s network for the preservation of history of the International Harvester Co. International Harvester joined with Case in 1985 to form the Case IH agriculture equipment brand with headquarters in Racine, Wis.

“Case IH is proud of its International Harvester heritage and excited to welcome this group home to southern Wisconsin,” says Duane Nelson, Case IH director of global brand management. “We feel a strong connection with the IH Club, and we revere our IH roots and continue to build upon its tremendous agricultural legacy.”

Show hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a complete schedule of events, visit the International Harvester Collectors Club Wisconsin Chapter No. 4 Web site at

* Craig Morgan To Perform – Thursday, July 23 at 3 p.m.
BNA recording artist Craig Morgan, one of country music’s best-loved performers, will give a solo acoustic performance in the arena building from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Morgan will perform his Top 10 hit song “International Harvester.” The song tells the story of a "... God-fearing, hard working combine driver hoggin' up the road... on my International Harvester." His other Top Ten hits include "Little Bit of Life,"
"Tough," "Almost Home" (Music Row Song of the Year in 2003), the chart-topping summer anthem "Redneck Yacht Club," and "That's What I Love About Sunday." Morgan will be available for photographs and autographs after the show.

* Remembering International Harvester – Friday, July 24 at 3 p.m.
On Friday, July 24, Gerry Salzman, senior director Case IH global product marketing, harvesting, will speak to IH enthusiasts in the arena building at 3 p.m.

“Gerry has a rich history with International Harvester,” says Nelson. “It’s fascinating to hear his stories that go back to the early 1970s when he worked for International Harvester. Gerry spent 14 years with International Harvester and has been with Case IH for 20-plus years in various product development, marketing and product management positions.”

Following Gerry’s presentation, Wisconsin author Michael Perry will give a book reading and be available to sign books. Perry is author of the bestselling memoirs Population 485: Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time and Truck: A Love Story.

* Equipment Parade – Friday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m.
Another highlight of Friday’s activity is an IH tractor and truck parade that leaves from the Alliant Energy Center at 10:30 a.m. en route to the Library Mall. The trucks and tractors will be displayed on Library Mall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. before returning to the Alliant Energy Center.

The Case IH “Stars & Stripes” MagnumTM limited edition tractor will be making a special appearance as part of the parade. The “Stars & Stripes” Magnum is a specially painted and badged Case IH Magnum 180 tractor. It was created to help celebrate165 years of continuous agricultural equipment production in Racine, Wis., as well as to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Cyrus McCormick.

“McCormick’s Virginia Reaper introduced mechanization into grain harvest, helping kick off agriculture's ‘Industrial Revolution,’” says Nelson. “We take great pride in our heritage of innovation extending all the way back to the beginning of mechanical harvest.”

* Case IH Equipment
Case IH will also have current equipment at the event and experts will be on hand to answer questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to view:
o Case IH Magnum™ tractors, made in Racine, Wis.
o Case IH Axial-Flow® combine
o Case IH Steiger® 4WD tractor
o Case IH Puma™ tractor
o Case IH Farmall® compact and utility tractors
