I've been on toolbar rampage, and I have some "C" cultivators I'm tryin' to adapt to front mount on a newer 35hp 4 wheel drive tractor. One thing, tryin' to find out what is the correct material tool bar should be made out of and the second thing, the proper size bar to hang cultivator attachments. As to the clamp your looking for I'd try Case IH, be prepare for sticker shock, though. I need 4 more of the clamps for the round shank cultivators, Case IH wanted $50 for the clamp. I located them at Agri-Supply $15 w/wedge bolt. Roll-A-Cone in Texas has some clamps and adapters for tool bars, but mostly for the bigger high HP stuff. All the square bar I can find locally is mild steel or a high priced alloy (4140) and only 1-1/4" bar. I've since found out that proper tool bar material is 1080 (high carbon stock) and cannot be had in 1-1/4" or 1-3/8" square. I'd like to know what other guys use when they have make up new bars and what type of clamps they use? Write back with your results. bjr

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
