Unfortunatly this plan may not work on this engine. The tappets can seize in the guides and the guides bear on the head so the whole works holds tight untill the head is off, then the cam can push guide and all out of the block. If it is just the valve stuck you can put some soft rope in the spark plug hole and fill the cylender, then turn the engine slowly so the rope pushes the valve up. Repeat a few times untill it gets loose.
