Condition: Control valve cannot be readily moved from neutral.
Causes/Remedies:
1 – Control valve gang retaining bolts (i.e., valve mounting bolts) and stud-nuts too tight, pinching valves in valve bodies. / Loosen retaining nuts and bolts. Re-torque to 25 ft-lbs.
2 – Control valve linkage binding. / Check and free up all hand levers and linkage.
3 – Orifice in upper unlatching piston plugged. / Dismantle control valve, clean thoroughly, renew gaskets and seals.
4 – Control valve and body scored. / Replace old valve with new. Check system for dirt, abuse or cause of failure.
I hope this helps (my money’s on #1 above).

Thanks a bunch! My bet (hope) is on #3, actually. I havn't laid a wrench on those since I've owned this monster, but I had just topped off the hydraulic oil about 15 minutes prior to the failure. I may have stirred up some gunk between the filter and the valves. It's just kinda weird that it worked flawlessly one second, than nothing. I removed the linkage and worked the valve by hand. All I can get is neutral and down. There is something very solid keeping the valve lever from moving past neutral to the up position. So... either it's dirt or a mechanical failure inside the valve. Gonna find out tomorrow morning.
