i have a 48 h that i bought in almost running condition. i changed the oil and filter plugs the sed bowl and rebuilt the carb though i dont know how well. that was enough to take it for my first test drive. oil pressure was good temp guage didnt work and the home done 12 volt conv didnt work and other than running rich it ran ok. if theres one thing i cant stand more than carbs its points so they had to go.i converted back to 6 volt with a working gen new voltage reg and ignitor kit. much excited i went to start it and she started with alot of smoke. it ran long enough to check that the gen was chargeing which it was but quickly fouled the plugs and would not start again. i removed the air cleaner pipe from the carb and alot of fuel came out. ive checked the timeing and fireing order 3 times all good. now when i try to start her with the choke closed and cranking for a few moments when i stop fuel rushes out of the carb. any ideas would be very welcome.
