Click on the big "Yesterday's Tractors" logo at the top left of the screen and see the article on converting to a 12V system. If you do not have the field wire connected to a source of "switched" 12V (Like the ignition terminal of the switch) the the field will always be energized and run the battery down when the tractor is off. If you hook it to the ign. switch the tractor may run after you turn the switch off, see details in article, but be ready just in case.
