There are four seals that could leak into that space. In order of probable:
Transmission countershaft to Liftall drive shaft.
Transmission input shaft.
Liftall pump input shaft fitting.
Rear main seal on engine.
If it rear end 90wt gear oil it will smell sulfery and strong. If it is, it is (probably) the seal on the countershaft. Drain rearend oil. Remove the Liftall.(heavy and a floor jack is a good idea.) Use a solid hard square shanked tool to remove the drive coupling. Lefty loosy and very tight. Remove the fasteners, replace seal.
If that seal looks good, (and it is stinky gear oil) it is the trans input shaft seal. Same as above, but instead of removing the coupler disk, remove the clutch shaft, and front trans input seal flange. Replace seal.
If it is engine oily stuff, but pretty clean, it is the Lift all seal. As above, but remove the liftall drive coupling from the Liftall, and replace seal. A brass drift is placed into the gears of the pump to lock it for turning the disk, lefty loosy.
If it is engine oil, Usually darker. (matches a sample on white paper from the check cocks.)
pulling the tractor apart, and replacing the rear main seal (and clutch pilot bearing and T/O bearing for insurance against doing it again soon)
The process is more involved and both the archives "search For" box, and responses to your questions will get you through it. The plate with 6 bolts is not a oil reservoir, taking it off will not dump massive oil. It will be grubby. JimN
