Ok, where to begin... So much info has been given since last night! My 17 gpm pump came from Hy-Capacity, not IH. I used the same bolts that were on the old one, actually the pumps looked pretty close in size. The thickness from plate to pump was the same, I think. The bolts had plenty of threads.

I sold my old pump on EBAY, made a good chunk off of a used pump... I used the same gear from the 12 to the 17 gpm. I did not research that one :o I bought both gaskets and did not look at them first. I installed the thinner of the two by accident. I have not used it much since the new pump (<15 hrs). When I placed the new filter and extension on I noticed some metal debris! I plan to pull the pump plate off and use the thicker gasket.

I had no problems with the brake petals. They are well above the filter on the F504. I will measure the thickness of the adapter plate tomorrow, I have to run tonight. If I had known the thickness and the filter used before hand, I would have not bought the kit. I would have had a machinist at work mill me one out of steel or aluminum using the cover as the template. But $58.00 + shipping ($9.00) was worth it to get the adapter, filter, bolts, studs, and two gaskets...

Let me know if this helps and I will post tomorrow with the dimensions and such on the adapter. Another reason my pump is kicking A$$ is the 12 gpm gear on the 17 gpm pump!!! 8)

Charles

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
