Pete 23: Can you tell me what the difference is in the mounting plates so I can look and see what mine is? Not sure why a different mounting plate is needed. Seems like it would be more of a thickness and spacer issue. They used to offer to spacers and now they only seem to carry one.
Also how many teeth did the drive gear have for both the 12 and the 17?
Charles: My 2606 with IH 3000 loader & case backhoe came with a hydraulic cannister type filter that is part of the loader setup. Not sure one is "pre" as compared to the other but at least there is dual cleaning. I noticed when I got my 2606 which was having steering problems, someone had removed the screen from the IH filter down by the pumps allowing open flow by that filter. Ended up buying another one and they aren't cheap.
You have me wondering now how bad do I need that filter when I have that big cannister one coming off the loader valves? The only issue would be any sludge in the bottom of the tranny that would get in the oil. With the loader filter, maybe I'll pull the other filter and screen to see what performance I get.
