The later hitch will work on the early tractors, but the early hitch won"t work on the later tractors. The tel-a-depth isn"t required to use them. You can hook your cylinder into one of your 2-way valves and run it that way. The tel-a-depth was either an option or retrofittable to the hundred through 60 series tractors. On the 300 and 400 there was a flag, I guess you could call it, that you could set your depth, clamp this to the cylinder rod, and when you lowered your hitch, it would hit a pin in the top of the cylinder body. That pin closed a valve that tripped the valve on the 2-way remote and when you raised the hitch it would re-open that valve in the cylinder body. I don"t know if those cylinders have the same measurements as the ones on the later hitches but if they do and you could find one you could swap it in for automatic depth control if you find yourself wanting it.
