I'm thinkin' it might not be just a Fawteen thing.
Sweet Pea's been on some kinda kick since she got home. Not sure what it's about, but she bought a simple curtain to cover the venetian blind in her bedroom. Fine, she does keep some odd hours, so less light in the room is okay. The window's on the north side of the house, so maybe it'll even help with any drafts over the winter. It's her room, doesn't really matter to me. Our own bedroom is pretty dark in the daytime, too.
So I get up this morning, and the venetian blinds are all lowered and closed on the kitchen windows and even the back door and the thermal curtains are drawn over the double doors in the living room. The venetian blind behind the curtain in the bathroom is louvered shut. A bright, sunshiny morning and the whole place is dark as a tomb.
I guess in her absence, Sweet Pea has developed this thing about folks lookin' in the windows??? Mind, we're out in the country. No windows at all on the south side, no direct views from anywhere into the house from the front or the north. And the rear? There's a ridge about 3/4 mile back where a hunter with a really good scope might get a peek. Other than that, there's the peak of Mt. Waldo about a mile and a half off, and we all know what kind of folks might four-wheel up to the top of that!
So here just a short while ago I obediently answer Miss Karee's call to "Come here." She's quite short, so she needed me take down the rod holding the little valance/skirt at the top of the blinds on the back door. So I'm thinkin' she wants to wash all the kitchen curtains. But out she comes with this dark blue curtain to go up in its place. About a foot of it draggin' the floor, and she starts holdin' up the bottom, sayin' she's gonna have her mother shorten it up, and aks me how long I want it. I THANKED HER for askin', but allowed as how I didn't really want it at all.
I took the dog to the vet today for a booster shot of some sort and to have her nails trimmed. She seems to have forgotten all about it already, so I may still have a friend around here.
