Greetings: I just want to make sure before I spend money on parts that I am barking up the correct tree. I have a 1940 Farmall A. When I advance the throttle lever forward (i.e. to increase RPM's), I can go 5-6 notches before there is any increase in engine speed. The link at the carburator does not move until all of a sudden it jumps a large distance. The same response holds true for moving the throttle in the opposite direction. I assume this means my governor needs work. Do others agree with this assessment? Is the problem most likely the governor spring, or is something more ominous involved? Thanks in advance for any and all helpful replies. Douglas Stockman Rochester, NY
