Thanx to everyone that helped with the 240 ring problem. Will get to work Monday on motor. I now trust you all enough to throw out my big idea. I use this narrow front 240 for pulling a 72 inch finishing mower. Mow about ten acres weekly in season. Great tractor for this task, but I'm getting tired looking over my shoulder to the deck while mowing. When I overhauled the rear and trans several years ago, looked like you could "flip" the differential to the opposite side and in effect, make the tractor run backwards while keeping the pto in normal spin direction. Flip the seat, bend the shifter, use brake mastercylinders to clutch and brakes and change steering wheel with chain gear linkage to move it to rear of trans cover facing forward. What do you guys think? A 240 running like a fork lift tractor pushing the deck instead of pulling.
