Well today I worked on my Hydraulic pump. I found out it is a Wooster pump for a Farmall 100. Someone had tried to rebuild it before and they reversed the pressure bearing spacer and the pressure bearing spacer seal gasket. The front body bearings show signs of wear from the brass. I took it to the CIH dealer and talked to a mechanic and he confirmed the parts were in wrong. He said it might not do well. Anyway I decided that since I had the rebuild kit I would go ahead and install the parts and give it a try. First problem, I tried to tap the pump shaft seal into place and messed it up. CIH said I could not get another one unless I ordered the kit again. So I called a friend at KAMAN industrial and had him look it up. He said I got them, 1.50 each. So I get two and head off to look up another guy I know. He works in a shop and I asked him to press the seal in. He did and it looked great. SO I go to put it together, and I can't get the shaft through the seal. I used picks and I was SUPER careful to not mess up the seal. Well I got it together, filled the oil tank and purged the lines as well as I could. Well the pump works. It sounds good and no leaks on the out side. I will have to run it a while to see if it is leaking in the inside again.
Now for the part about her letting me down.
The Fast hitch is lowering when the tractor is running and when it is off. I have rebuilt the pump, and fast hitch remote valve. I have no leaks anywhere except the Fast hitch hydraulic cylinder. It leaks a very little bit through the seal on the cylinder rod. It is more like damp not wet. Can the problem be in the cylinder or is it somewhere else? Ron
