Polyurethanes (Imron) are not recommended for immersion service as in a ship's hull. They are fine for the superstructure. One peculiar benefit of polyurethanes is that they make airplanes go faster because of reduced tubulance from the smooth finish. Imron flows out so well that it takes at least three coats to cover castings. It needs the same attention on corners and edges. When pricing Imron remember that it is not thinned and coverage per gallon will be less. It is probably safe to say that it cost 10 times the cost of IH paint to refinish a red tractor.
