I just did mine three days ago... and never thought to ask on here... I discovered you could (note I say COULD) trim it and get it under the letters, but what I chose to do was rotate the cup some and put the decal to the right of the "oil level" deal there and I just left it turned to where you see half the letters and half the sticker. Works for me, but I wasn't looking for an "original" machine either. It's all up to you.
