Just bought a super A that apparently has been sitting a while. Now that Im using it, major leak at the front seal and the right rear axle. Im new to the super A tractor. My questions are... How do you know how much fluid should be in the rear trans axle? I assume that you would fill it at the top trans cover plug. I measured the oil through this plug and when I hit bottom, I have 3 inches in the transmission. This is the oil thats coming out of the rear axle, isnt it?
The oil is coming through hitting the brakes, so this is the inner seal, isnt it? That means I would have to take everything apart, final drive gear assymble, long axle tube, to get to the Inner seal. Correct? Am I going to have to replace the outer seal also when I disassemble?
What manual is out there that can guide me through this. I bought the A service man. and am very disapointed. Its about 65 pages and not very complete. There is nothing in there that mentions how to replace the seals.
I am leaking very bad. When I park it I have a puddle about the size of a grapefruit. It needs attention. Any help or advice on this project is apprecieated
