when you slow the engine down to a slow idle the amp should go to dis then back to nuetral its possible the reverse current relay sticks brobably bad batts check the sp gravity on all the cells batts should last 6 yrs or more check the third brush it is adjustable should be no closer than 3.5 bars to the other brush
