The oil pump can be made better, but not rebuilt. (unless someone finds a serious reason to do metal therapy on tips of geqars, or housings, way not easy) The warpage of the end plate is the biggest concern. Flat sand the plate with omnidirectional strokes, on a flat (plate glass) surface. Finish this with 320 grit to polish. SOme have made a steel plate girdle support to reinforce the plate (It works). Once flat, derermine the end clearance(shim stock and tightening to bind is best, it needs to be between .0005", and .001" to be OK. Set this with one or more gaskets (very thin IH gaskets). If there is more than .oo2" tip clearance to the body at the gears, it might never make stock pressure. It is possible to have the pump rebushed, but worn bushings are also worn housings and tips on teeth, Not promising. I hope this helps. JimN
