Not too sure I would not 'bait' them up, and see about catching them. Game cameras are pretty slick now with infrared flash, etc. I believe I would put a few gallons of water in a jug sitting in sight of the M, and put a camera (out of sight), and see what happens. The tough part is getting the camera out of sight where the thieves cannot see it in daylight as they most certainly are scoping out the fuel source in daylight. Also, depending on how close it is from your residence you can get small motion sensors that will alert a receiver in your house. I have caught a few snooping around my driveway using this. I know the second they drive in my gate. Unfortunately I have had such bad luck with law enforcement doing anything you will have to have pictures of the thieves in the act AND their vehicle description and plate numbers. A taped confession would not hurt from my experience or the law will tell you they 'could have' been putting gas in for you instead of taking it. Guess you can tell I have a low opinion of our local law. A couple months ago I provided a vehicle description along with plate numbers of spotlighters shooting at deer on my property, and nothing came of it. They said they could not prove who was driving.
