Mike, I'be been following your posts for some time now and probably enjoyed this one more than any! Its great to see the young'uns getting interested early. When they hit their teens and the hormones kick in and they start establishing their own "identity", hopefully their common interest will help them keep thinking dad is cool.
I've got twin boys, 9, a daughter 10, and another daughter, 12. They have all claimed certain of my tractors as their "own". I"ve taken time with each of them to learn how to safely start, operate, STOP, and shut down their respective choices, but I never allow them to operate them without my IMMEDIATE supervision.
Too many bad things can happen far too fast.
My oldest has become very safety concious, and is very helpful, putting along in 1st or 2nd on "her" Ford 8n, when we are picking up hay in the field, or treelimbs in the yard. The others have a ways to go.
I really like seeing a face w/ a msg. You get a general impression sometimes of what someone looks like by how they write and little clues in their discussions. It sounds strange, but even though I've never corresponded with you, it seems like you're just someone else I know...
One of my son's names is Carson. He got a big kick out of seeing your tractor parked in front of the "carson" street sign. I have a '40 H, but Carson claims the '36 JD "B" as his... Diversification is a good thing.
