If it makes puffs of white smoke while this happens, it may be low compression on that cylinder that takes time and engine heat to get it up to the point of running. Find out which cylinder it is by loosening injector lines one at a time while it is running, then tightening them, to find the offending cylinder. When found, take (gasoline side) compression readings to see if there is low compression on that hole. If so, it will take a rebuild to get it fixed. If it is valves, the situation would not get better. It could be sticking valves, but those often make a lot of noise, and can cause pushrods to come off, or get bent. (less likely) A bad injector can also cause poor cold operation. Switch the injectors from one hole to another and if the miss follows, it needs to be serviced, or replaced. Good luck, JimN
