Larry Ed said: (quoted from post at 09:50:07 03/23/08) I serviced my tranny and differential today and when I dropped the pans on the final drive gears, they were empty. Is this the way it is supposed to be? I did a search on the forum for the proper servicing sequences and I read where I need to fill the pans when I reinstall them. Could the oil just have leaked out? There may have been a half cup in the bottom of each pan (with a lot of sludge). Thanks everyone, Larry
if i read part of your post right you said :I read where I need to fill the pans when I reinstall them.: just put the pan on and then take the hex plug out that is just above the pan on the casting and fill through there it would be kinda a pain to mount the pans full of oil. Well at least it would be for me :D
