Hello, I installed the original mag and followed the manual instructions. I turned it over by hand to #1 TDC and then pulled the mag back from the mount and the impulse snapped just like the book says it is suppose to. The tractor fired right up. The next time I went to start it it would sputter for a few moments and quit. I rolled it by hand back up to #1 TDC and pulled the distributor cap off and the rotor was between the #2 and #1 posts and not lined up with the #1 post anymore and did not snap when removed from the mount. I also noticed after the mag was removed and turned by hand that there was very little spring tension from the impulse for the #2 cylinder, it had tension on all 4 of the cylinders when I installed it. The other cylinder firing locations have good tension. If the impulse has gone bad for the #2 cyl will it affect the overall timing. When I installed the 12volt distributor from my SMD in it she fired right up. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Thanks, Phil
