A note on the power-lift. It became an option on new tractors at some point in the late 30s. My father bought a '38 with the lift on it. My grandfather had a '33 and had a lift put on his tractor ("retrofitted" is the new word for this, I guess). The pump is attached to the pulley shaft, I believe, and I THINK--but don't know for sure--that some adaptation (new shaft?) had to be done to retrofit the lift and pump. I know others have more info on the details, and if they are as nutty as I am about this old stuff, would be happy to tell you what they know.
