Super A Starter Problem Followup

About three months ago I posted I was have problems with my Super A with the starter Engaging improperly. Heres what it took to fix it. The original teeth on the original ringgear are beveled. The new IHC ones are straight cut. The new starter drives are straight cut teeth and the old ones were beveled to help engage the flywheel. I tore my starter apart [which by the way worked perfect on my Super M only had to get off and operate lever by hand] It had already started to tear up the end of the bendix [only started the A about 10 times with it. Terrible Noise sometimes] I was able to locate a new NOS starter drive a starter repair shop had had for probably twenty years. This one had nice beveled teeth. I measured the end of the armature shaft where the drive would come out and spin and there was 28 thousands wear from farther in on the shaft. I ordered a brand new armature. $42.00 not too bad. I purchased a christmas tree carbide bit for my air die grinder. $17.00 more by the way the new drive was $59.00. I went in the starter hole and beveled the left leading face of each tooth as best I could. My other option was I had found a very nice used ring gear with the beveled teeth. That was plan B thank goodness it didn`t come to that. Anyhow rolled the engine over with a big screwdriver and did eack tooth on the ring gear. Assembled the starter with the new armature and drive and it worked once and no more. Tore starter back apart. IHC was pretty smart when they build these old tractors and starters. The spacers at the end on the drive were not correct The parts book calls for one fat one and two skinny ones. They give the measurements in thousands. So I get my Mike out and tore down an old H starter and they had the correct spacers and reinstalled the whole works and it finally works great. People do not know what we that work on these old tractors have to go through with at times to fix them properly. Still working on that X //<':XxX`&454-+ CURSED RADIATOR. i`ve HAD it OFF ABOUT SIX TIMES BUT i KNOW ONE DAY I`ll get it fixed too. I also need a very nice 10 inch by 24 inch rear rim if anyones got one.I know Miller has repos but I need one that uses the old square headed bolts not the new ones that use hex head.
