I am in the same position as you are. I have both a WD Allis and a IH 656 D Gear Drive. I have a couple of home made implements and two John Deere Implements. One is a 6ML Land Leveler and the other is a Series 4000 Disc Harrow that you can read the saga on elsewhere (I havent gotten it home yet).
Here is what I am going to do and what "I" believe you should do, not what you have to do, it is your equipment you own it you do what you want with it! Since these items came from the factory painted a certain color that is the way they should remain. That is strictly my opinion. If you were so worried about the items being a matched set to start with you would have shopped for a matched set to begin with. For me, I shopped for the best value. If I could have found an International Disc Harrow for the price I just paid for the John Deere I would have gladly bought it! So I will pay homage to the good folks up at John Deere (even though they havent gotta clue what their data tags are used for since they didnt seem to keep any records) and paint the Land Leveler and Disc Harrow Green when they are gone through!
