The more I look at that picture the more I think the shiny spot in your pattern is too far out on the end of the gear.I think you need it more to the middle of the gear,away from the edge.What looks like is goin to happen is that it will wear off the edge of the ring gear.I like where the shiny part seems to be off the top edge,thats good.You can have that shiny patch towards the end,just not on it.Please disregard my other post,when I first looked at it my brain must not have seen what was wrong.I still reserve the right to be wrong since I never worked on one of these,and somebody that knew how to set them might have a different opinion than me,I think your noisy is because you have the pattern too far to the outside end of the ring gear.Plus 8 thousanadths is for new gears,and it was most likely better off the first way if the pattern was back off the front.
