The first job I had after I moved to Iowa 20 years ago was hauling road rock for the county . I worked for a subcontractor with less than road ready trucks I found out . The air brakes worked fine empty but after I got a load ( 14 tons or so ) and was scooting on down the blacktop at 55 I came up on a 'T " intersection . Right or left . I went straight through at speed and the only way I got stopped was by downshifting . I got stopped just short of the end of that section . As you can tell there was no accident because there was a gravel road on the far side and it was not near any towns . I was so pssd !! At myself for not checking them myself and at the owner for letting a truck out that wasn't fit to work . ...Randy
