CWB, on 6 volt systems I recomemend the biggest heaviest highest rated battery that physically fits in the mount and nuttin less then 0 better yet 00 gauge cables as mentioned below. A shop can give the battery a load test at no charge usually. If the ground is to any thin wimpy rusted sheet metal try it to a good frame bolt. Another place a problem can develop is a starter switch or solenoid. Depending on what type it is on some you can by pass jump around them n see if she cranks better then indicating a burned/carboned/resistive switch or solenoid. On tractors with the saddle mount push starter switches they can be removed and you may find the starter post is badly burned n pitted or the switch contatcs are burned/carboned/resistive.
I suggest to be safe to remove n clean n wire brush each n every battery n starter n ground n switch conenction,,,,,,,have the battery load tested n her fully charged,,,,,,,,all clean cables n conenctions n grounds,,,,,,,,big heavy battery with 00 gauge cables,,,,,,switch or solenoid test,,,,,,,,,, n then if shes till a slow cranker I suspect a starter problem like bushings or armature or a brush problem.
