Forcasters are predicting it the heaviest snowfall since 1944. I fired the 130 up, went far enough out the shop door to get the slack out of my chains. I normally don't put my chains on until I see need, and this morning I saw need.

I was first introduced to these BM, Super BMD and B-450 in Nova Scotia, having a British immigrant farmer move in about 2 miles away from me, in the late 60s. He had farmed with these tractors in England. I don't think the BM ever had 3 point hitch or diesel engine. He was a Yorkshire man, thus I never was quite sure of his language the first 3 years. The Super BMD and B-450 were glow plug diesels with factory 3 point hitch. Quite a good 3 point hitch as I understood him. He saw the problems we had starting those little B-250, B-275, etc., and said IH was wise to have never shipped the Super BMD or B-450 into Canada or the northern US. About 15 to 20F was the limit on cold weather starting. I think there have been upgrades since to make them start easier, I know the 250s and 275 have. I bet you don't see much of those show tractors roaring around upstate NY in Jan. I know IH shipped them into southern US when US plants couldn't keep up with demand. A few of the W series went to western Canada, but those grain farmers never started them all winter.
