In Reply to: New 434 Diesel - Some simple/silly questions - oil fill, fil posted by Andrew (Toronto) on September 15, 2007 at 14:16:06:

Andrew from TO, the series went B414,434,444,364,384 then discontinued.
We had B414,434 & 384 on our farm from 1962 till about 1991.
You require an Operator's Manual, I have one from B414.
a)engine oil drain is bottom of oil pan, filler is by remove breather cap on top of valve cover.

b)Transmission has 3 drain plugs, 1 under the rear casting just above drawbar, 2 under bottom of transmission by front of brake pedal. Filler hole is by gear shift lever, level check plug is on side of transmission case by left brake pedal and foot rest.

c)Hydraulics to drain & change filters you require pictures. Filler plug is back of seat on top of casting. Fill thru filler plug until oil is level with top of housing.

Air filter, can't remember, I know the B414 had an oil bath filter. 434 sucked cold air from up by top of rad to air cleaner.
Crankcase filter is by the engine oil dip stick inside the metal canister. Be sure to remove all old gasket material from the grooves in the filter holder. Use an awl or some other pointed device becareful not to score the metal. The new filter will come with about 3 different "O" rings and you have to determine the correct one for your tractor. If you don't get it correct oil will leak or worse if you tighten to much you will distort the filter mounting assy.

Fuel filter(s) are mounted on upper left side of the engine. Will have to bleed the air out of the fuel system if these are changed.

3 wires going to front, 2 for headlight, 1 for horn but horn may not be installed as it was not a requirement in Canada.

IIRC there was 1 fuse for all the lights. Brown/Black wire is horn, Blue/White & Blue/Yellow are headlight for B414.

Good luck
